Manage Links and Documents
Though specially designed to store, organize and display the text of your webpages, Big Medium can also manage links to documents and other websites.
In addition to storing the complete text of your webpages, Big Medium can also store links to other content, including webpages at other sites or documents like PDF files, Word documents or PowerPoint slides.
Big Medium displays links to these documents and webpages in the same way it displays links to any other Big Medium pages, including the description and other information it shows for "normal" articles.
Links to other websites
Adding a link to another website is just like adding a new article to your site. Click the "New Article" link in the left-column menu of the Big Medium control panel. Fill out the article edit page just as you normally would, but select the "Link" option instead of the "Text" option in the "Article Content" panel of the article edit page. Then provide the URL (web address) for the document in the URL field.
The result: Big Medium lists the link on your site just as it would display a new article, but instead of linking to a page on your site, the link points to the web address you supplied in the "Article Content" panel.
Links to documents
To offer a document as a download, click the "New Article" link in the left-column menu of the Big Medium control panel. Fill out the article edit page just as you normally would, but select the "Download" option instead of the "Text" option in the "Article Content" panel of the article edit page. Click the "browse" button and select the file to upload.
The result: After saving the article, Big Medium lists the link on your site just as it would display a new article. Clicking thel ink causes the visitor's browser to download the file.
